Universal design isn’t a new idea, and there’s a good chance that you’ve heard the term before. It’s a concept comprised of 7 principles, supported by 30 guidelines. These principles of universal design, published in 1997, are available on The Center for Universal Design’s website.

A lot has changed since 1997. Nowadays we’re accustomed to having information at our fingertips. We consume lots of data everyday, which can get overwhelming. We simplified the original 7 principles of universal design to make this stuff easier to understand.
